What are cookies?

Cookies are little text values, that can be placed by websites in your browser, to improve user experience. They are usually used to distinguish users of a website, or store website specific user settings. When you log in on a website, a cookie is used to keep you logged in. Cookie accepting can be configured and cookies can be deleted easily in your browser settings.

Cookies on this site

This website also uses cookies, which are mostly stored by external services that I wired in this site. However, this is not automatic. These cookies will be stored in your browser only if you allow it:

  • When you arrive to my homepage, a small dark window appears at the bottom right corner, where you can decide whether you allow or deny cookies.
  • If and only if you allow them, external services will be activated and they will store necessary cookies.
  • If you deny them, the window shrinks into a tiny bar, which can be reopened with a click.

Your decision however will always be stored in a cookie:

  • In case of allowing, the cookie will expire in 1 year, then it will be removed automatically.
  • In case of denial, the cookie willl expire in 1 week, then it will be removed automatically.
  • If you reopen the consent window, the cookie will be removed.

Privacy

Contact form

Data You provide on the contact form (email address and message) will go through Basin service. Basin is a GDPR compliant form handler service. Your provided data will be

  • sent to me in email,
  • sent to You in email as a receipt,
  • and stored in Basin’s database.

I will automatically delete the information from the database using the administration interface, after I reply to You in email. You can also request deletion of your data, either using Basin’s interface for this purpose, or by sending another message to me.

Contact form will work only if you allow cookies on this website.

Like button

I place Like and Share buttons on my blog posts, to help increase their popularity easily. According to Facebook, your Facebook user’s identifier and your browser’s metadata (browser name and version) may be stored, along with the visited website and a timestamp.
